ROPAS
ROPAS: FAQ’S
- What is ROPAS?
- Why is this technology important?
- What applications can ROPAS help me in?
ROPAS aims to develop a wireless sensor device on a paper surface which can be manufactured using high-end and low-cost printing techniques.
A technological platform will be created on a fiber based substrate consisting of the following elements: a flat printed battery, a wireless signal device and a printed sensor. In this way, the most recent advances in nanotechnology, biotechnology and information and communication technologies will be integrated on paper.
The technology platform can be used for various security applications, which will be demonstrated in security and intelligent labels to prevent counterfeiting, integrated paper displays and smart track and trace envelopes.
The results of ROPAS will be products that will give the user the benefit of saving time and obtaining more information about an environment of what is possible today, and at a very small additional cost.
